Dr. Lee Hindin is a graduate of Rutgers College and the New Jersey Medical School. His postgraduate training included a rotating internship at St. Luke's Hospital in New York City, followed by a psychiatric residency at UCLA Medical Center where he served as chief resident of the outpatient department in his final year of training.
He returned to New Jersey and joined the staff of St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, and began a private practice as a general adult psychiatrist. While on the clinical faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Hindin became Director of Psychiatry and Director of Alcohol and Drug Services at St. Barnabas.
Subsequently, he established Creative Intervention, an integrated outpatient behavioral health care facility, where he served as Medical Director for 20 years.
He maintains a private practice in Livingston.
He is currently the Medical Director of Strive, an outpatient recovery program treating addiction and co-occurring issues.
He also serves as the psychiatrist for the Medical Advisory Committee of Cigna/QualCare.
He treats people with a wide variety of mental health and substance use disorders and was among the first physicians in New Jersey to become certified under DATA 2000 (Drug Addiction Treatment Act of the year 2000) to provide opiate substitution therapy.
Most of all, Dr. Hindin enjoys working with people to help them identify and achieve their goals.
